Group Accountant
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Group Accountant to join our growing Finance team based in Ross-on-Wye. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to join the business during a significant period of growth and development. Following a review of the Finance function, the business is investing in building a centralised Finance team that can support the future needs of the Group.
Working closely with the Head of Finance, CFO and wider leadership team, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, strengthening financial controls and helping to develop a high-performing finance function.
This role offers excellent exposure across a diverse group of businesses and would suit someone looking to broaden their experience beyond traditional management accounting into treasury, consolidations, business partnering and finance transformation activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Produce monthly management accounts for Group holding companies and support financial reporting across operational entities.
- Consolidate monthly financial results across the Group, providing analysis and commentary for senior leadership and Board reporting.
- Support Group treasury activities, including cashflow forecasting, banking relationships and foreign currency requirements.
- Manage intercompany balances, reconciliations and investigations.
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and support budget monitoring throughout the year.
- Manage Group insurance arrangements, ensuring appropriate cover is maintained across all business areas.
- Support year-end audit activities, financial consolidations and statutory reporting requirements.
- Support the ongoing development and centralisation of the Finance function, helping to improve processes, controls and reporting capabilities.
- Work closely with operational teams and budget holders to improve financial understanding and performance management.
- Contribute to finance improvement projects, systems enhancements and wider business change initiatives.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who can manage multiple priorities, build strong working relationships and provide accurate financial insight to support business growth.
Essential
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including UK GAAP.
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet accounting and taxation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong systems proficiency.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience of Group consolidations.
- Treasury and cashflow management experience.
- Experience working with multiple currencies.
- Knowledge of management charges and transfer pricing.
- Experience managing corporate insurance programmes.
- Experience liaising with banking partners and understanding banking facilities.
